Pearl Jam Announce U.S. Dates: Pearl Jam have released dates for their upcoming spring tour, featuring support from Band of Horses, with the Black Keys subbing in for a show on May 20. The alt-rock legends will hit the road May 1 for a stop at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. They will hit several U.S. cities before wrapping up with back-to-back dates at New York's Madison Square Garden on May 20 and 21. The spring run is in continued support of Pearl Jam's ninth studio offering, Backspacer.
Glenn Beck Denounces Springsteen's 'Born In The USA': Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck singled out Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" at a political rally as an example of the progressive politics he opposes. Beck read lyrics from the 1984 hit, then denounced the subject of the song as unpatriotic. Beck said, "That's what it's all about. That's what America's all about, according to Springsteen. . . . It's time for us to wake, wake up, out of our, um, dream state. Wake up out of the propaganda."
U2 Fan Gets To Repair Joshua Tree Grammy: Stuart Allcock got an unusual call recently. Out of the blue, the managers for U2 contacted the trophy craftsman to see if he could repair a damaged Grammy Award. After getting the call, Allcock told the U.K.'s Mirror that he felt "dizzy" on the phone. Allcock and his team took two weeks to repair the trophy, which had split into three pieces. It is unknown how the trophy was damaged, but it was originally awarded to the band in 1987 for its album The Joshua Tree.
